DBC Pierre is the pen name of novelist Peter Warren Finlay, known for his sharply satirical and stylistically inventive fiction. After spending much of his life moving between Australia, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, he turned to writing later in adulthood, bringing with him a highly unconventional life experience that shaped his literary voice.

He gained international recognition with his debut novel Vernon God Little, which won the Booker Prize. The book is a dark satire of media sensationalism and American culture, marked by its irreverent humour and energetic, experimental style.
