The Rheingold Route

John Cochrane was an American living in London. Once upon a time his name had been Steve Donner and he'd worked for the U.S. Treasury Department. That had been some time ago. But these days his work required all the knowledge he had acquired while he'd been working for the Treasury. It was very special secret work that quite a lot of people were doing in today's Europe, but Cochrane was, probably, better at it than most people. It involved a good deal of traveling and, on occasion, a spot or so of danger.
