Strangle Hold

Strangle Hold follows Eve Fitzsimmons, a young woman working at a New York advertising agency where appearances, ambition, and office politics shape everyday life. When the body of an unidentified woman is discovered strangled in the agency’s conference room, the polished atmosphere of the office quickly begins to crack. As suspicion spreads among coworkers and executives, Eve finds herself drawn into the tensions, rivalries, and hidden relationships surrounding the murder.

Set within the competitive world of mid-century advertising, the novel unfolds through shifting suspicions and mounting unease as investigators attempt to uncover the identity of the victim and the truth behind her death. Rather than relying on elaborate twists, the story builds tension through atmosphere, character, and the growing realization that the people moving through the office each day may know far more than they admit. Very classic “everyone smokes indoors while quietly destroying one another emotionally” energy. Humanity really peaked at carpeting and passive aggression.
