Joe Biden

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. is an American politician, statesman, and author whose career in public service has spanned more than five decades. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and raised primarily in Delaware, Biden studied history and political science at the University of Delaware before earning a law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. At the age of 29, he was elected to the United States Senate, becoming one of the youngest senators in American history. Shortly after his election, tragedy struck when his wife, Neilia, and infant daughter, Naomi, were killed in a car accident, while his two sons were seriously injured. Biden was sworn into office at his sons' hospital bedside and commuted daily from Delaware to Washington, D.C., throughout much of his Senate career.
