Chloe Benjamin

Chloe Benjamin is an American novelist known for literary fiction that blends emotional depth, philosophical questions, and elements of the speculative. Raised in San Francisco, she developed an early passion for reading and writing and later studied at Vassar College before earning an MFA in fiction from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Her work often explores themes of fate, family, identity, memory, and the tension between scientific understanding and human belief.

Benjamin first gained recognition with her debut novel, The Anatomy of Dreams, which won the Edna Ferber Fiction Book Award. She achieved international acclaim with The Immortalists, a New York Times bestseller that follows four siblings whose lives are shaped by a prediction of their deaths.
