Samantha Harvey is a British novelist and creative writing lecturer known for her introspective, philosophical fiction that explores consciousness, memory, and the natural world. She was born in England and studied philosophy before completing an MA in creative writing at the University of East Anglia, where she later became a lecturer.

Harvey is best known for novels such as The Wilderness (2009), All Is Song (2012), Dear Thief (2014), and The Western Wind (2018), which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. Her more recent work, Orbital (2023), also received widespread acclaim and won the 2024 Booker Prize. Her writing often blends lyrical prose with deep philosophical inquiry, focusing on human perception and the inner lives of her characters.
