Emiko Jean

Emiko Jean is an American novelist best known for her bestselling young adult and adult fiction exploring identity, family, romance, and the Japanese American experience. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she is of Japanese American heritage and has drawn on her own cultural background to create stories that celebrate belonging while examining the complexities of heritage and self-discovery. Before becoming a full-time writer, she worked in a wide variety of professions, including as an entomologist, florist, candlemaker, and teacher. These diverse experiences helped shape the empathy and humor that characterize her fiction.
